Hoxey Hitch for John Deere 50

I notice (from the Hoxey Hitch web page picture) that this hitch does not make provision for any sway control--either chains or bars. Does anyone know if this poses a particular problem using this hitch with a John Deere 50?

Richard,

If you're going to do something like Bush Hog, you'll want pretty good sway control. The PTO on the 50 is high and to the left anyway, so you'll want to prevent the PTO shaft from getting out of shape when you're turning...and it's running.

You can link to pictures of chain sway control from the Hoxey site customer pictures page. The whole idea of the Hoxey is a low cost, off the shelf parts, kind of project. Those chains, when taught, work as well as any old Ford 3pt. If you want something a little stronger, you might want to consider the Saginaw County tractor 3 pt.
