It took a long time to set up, it will take a while to free. I have used a variety of techniques trying to unseize engines. Brake fluid, ATF, alcohol, vinegar, Aerokroil, WD-40, Pro-lube, PBlaster, Marvel Mystery oil, etc. There was a trick once where, while the head was still bolted down, a sparkplug adapter was attached to the air compressor after penetrating oil had been added to the cylinder. The air pressure forced oil everywhere but past the frozen rings. Someone suggested once that a grease gun lever would supply a great amount of force to move the piston down. So the question is this? How much do you want to spend repairing areas you damaged, as a result of being impatient? Regardless of which technique or compound you use, it will take time to free this engine up. BTW, ATF worked best for me, after I tried nearly everything in an engine, which took me two years of experimenting, to free up. Good luck.

Pining a head or block is a common practice and is permanent.

The way I was told to unstick an engine was use diesel fuel and oil. You put the diesel with oil mixed in the cylinders and let it sit. Or you can take a rag and put some diesel fuel in the cylinders and use the rag as a wick to ignite the diesel fuel. The heat will help unstick the engine. You should NOT use any thing else for fuel. The diesel wont blow up like gas will. Once the cylinders are good and hot you can try to free them pistons with some wood and a hammer. Sorry I cant help you with the head.

So you fill the cylinder(s) with diesel fuel, put a rag partially in each stuck cylinder, and set the part of the rag(s) sticking out of the cylinder(s) on fire? In the case of a 50 cylinder with the piston about half way (just behind/below the compression valve), about how long would it take for the diesel fuel to burn?

Long enough to get the cylinder hot. Diesel doesn't burn fast or explode like gas will. I remember seeing someone do it to unsieze a small engine and after a few hits with a piece of wood and a 3lb hammer the piston broke free.

Another way I heard was fill the cylinders with two cycle oil and let it seep through the rings and then try hitting it.

Are you saying that 2-cycle engine oil is better than the $3.99 - a - can penetrating oil I've been buying?

Just remember one thing. Safety is ALWAYS first. If you try using the deisel fuel then make sure you do it OUTSIDE were nothing can get lit on fire. No tractor or part is worth your life or anyone elses. So please be carefull.

No, Penetrating oil is just as good as two cycle oil. Man those pistons must be good and stuck. I wounder what would happean if you mixed penetrating oil with two cycle oil?
