720 LP is blowing oil out the exhaust. put rings in it about 2 yrs. ago but the pistons grooves were worn pretty bad. Have I broken a ring or do I have bigger trouble? When you first crank it the left hand exhaust stays cooler longer than the right side. Thanks, david

David, you could have any number of things wrong to cause oil blowing out the exhaust & broken rings are one of them. ~If both cylinders aren't firing it could even be that.
~Make sure both cylinders are firing & the spark plugs aren't fouled on either cylinder.
~If both cylinders are working, you might want to turn the engine until all the valves are closed on each cylinder & blow about 50 lbs. of compressed air into each cylinder to see where the air comes out [leak down test]. That will point you to in the correct direction as to what is wrong..... ...

You probably have broken rings or bad worn rings. If the rings have been broke for a while they have probably wore threw the piston ring grooves and oil runs right by. Cylinder probably has some wear or grooves in it.It should be blowing smoke out the bottom through the vent tube when under a load due to compression leaking by into the crankcase. If so a good bore job rings and pistons should do the trick.
