What is the procedure for replacing an oil bath air filter on an early model 4020 with a dry filter? And what type will be used to replace it?

Go to your local salvage yard and pick you up one. I did for my 3020 but be sure too keep your old oil bath. I had to put it back on last year when the cup on the dry type rusted through. You could just pick up a new one from deere too. I picked up a 4020(65 model) last week and I plan on changing it over to dry type as soon as possible as well as replacing the dry type on the 3020. Probably a winter time project, got hay to bale right now.

I replaced mine with a later dry type ,I don't think there is a way to convert a oil bath to a dry with out replacing the whole thing . Many yrs ago I was at a farm auction , there was a 4020 with a 4520 engine in it and the original 4020 dry cleaner was in a pile of stuff ot the hayrack I got it and a 7700 air cleaner plus some micellaneous for a couple bucks , that doesn't happen to me very often . The pile set in the hog shed for a few years till I got this '64 4020 . When I put the turbo on I put on the dry air cleaner . Jim
