I see there has been some posts lately about guys not beeing able to get some parts through J.D. I have a good J.D. dealer and was talking to the parts guys today about it Came about when I needed a link for our J.D. 200 stack mover. I am tapped into J.D. main parts computer and the number came up not a valid number. Long story short....When J.D. sells so many of a part in one year, they will stock the part in thier wearhouse. When sales of that part falls below a certian number per year, J.D. sells all stock of that part to a independent supplier. They ordered my link not from J.D. but the supplier using the J.D.part number. They say the key is to know what supplier has what part. But its is all in the dealers computer. Just passing on what I was told.

I kinda wondered about that. I checked on a underslung muffler a while back. No longer available. I checked at another dealer a few weeks ago. They got several of them at the warehouse, but the price is double now.
