I was wondering if any of you could help me. I am attempting to replace the oil seals on the load
control shaft of the 3pt. I got an IT manual and it says the shaft can be driven out from right to left. However the preceding paragragh says the load control arm is removed from according to the instructions when the rockshaft is removed. I do not have the top of the tranny or
the rockshaft, or the load control arm off, and I am wondering if I can still drive that shaft out or is there some sort of connection to the
load control arm that I will damage by trying to drive the shaft out. If there is no connection how the heck does that interior arm sense what goes on on the shaft? I removed the PTO shaft and can't see or feel much from there. That seal was shot also, I think all the lowers were damaged by alot of water in the bottom.
Thanks Rich

FIRST OFF IF IT DOESN'T GO PUTT PUTT I DO NOT KNOW BUT.... I have heared good reports on seal replacement kits made by Boling machine shop in Clarence Mo ph. 816 699 3717 They make them for 3010 thru 7520 and 4440 to 4455 and the 6030. Cost $50 to $80. I have only heard reports on the 4020. GOOD. Just Info for what it is worth.

Rich, make sure you pick up some shims to go between the wishbone and rearend housing where the shaft goes through. If you take out all the side play your new seals will last longer. Later, Bill

You can drive the shaft out without danage to the control arm. The control arm has a yoke. When you put the shaft back in, make sure the shaft goes through the yoke.

Thanks, I feel better about taking a whack at that shaft now.
