Does anyone know of such a thing? I'm sure there must be, but my searches haven't produced anything yet. I have a lady internet friend who has a bad knee, and weak abdominal muscles from an operation, itself due to a near-fatal attack in close quarters by an enraged calving cow. She has a 4020, and finds it very hard to mount and dismount. Is there such a thing as an extra mounting step and handle kit? TIA.

I found a footpad w/90-degree flat-bar bracket at a tractor salvage yard. I believe the piece came off a Debuque JD. I bolted it to the "upper" end of a coulter strut from a Pittsburg cultivator. The other end of the strut bolted to the 4020 frame in the first implement hole. A large bolt in the top hole of the strut gives vertical stability (frame inteferes). The standard cowl and fender handholds are within easy reach. Works fine for me.

There was an artical not long ago (past year or so) in the Progressive Farmer Magazine That a man which was paralized(as well as i remember) set up a handicap kit with a full lift. I don't remember the particulars but it looked like a nice fit. The tractor was a 4020 powershift. You might try serching the progressive farmer web site for the article.

I just bought a step kit, like Steven mentioned, from John Deere. It has two steps and a "railing". I call it my staircase. I've seen them with three steps so I think you might get another step as a kit which would mount to the bottom. They really look sharp too.
