My 44 A runs really fast no matter where I put the throttle. When I trace the linkage from the throttle lever to the carb it appears that it moves fine on either side of where the spring connects to the govenor but movement on one side doesn't lead to movement on the other side. It looks like there is an adjustment bolt at the top of the govenor where the spring is. Is that what I need to adjust??? Thanks for your help!

I had a '52 B that had the same problem. I lengthened the rod that connects the governor spring to the carb to remedy it. I also had to readjust the set-screw on the carb to allow the tractor to continue running when the throttle lever was all the way back.
