I just recently bought a 420T, it was one of the first made, that is before they started putting the yellow stripe on the hood. Anyway I realized today that there are no hydraulic inserts (not sure what they really would be called) but it's those things that you plug your hydraulic hoses from implements into. It would be very helpful if this had them. Is there possibly a way to add these to my 420? Any help would be apreciated.

Thanks,

Karl

kMy 430 has a dealer installed #35 loader. As said below you can hook up a remote valve the same way. There is a line from the front pump to the rear 3 point and then a return line. ON the 430 they run on the left side of the gearshift. The 420 should be the same. You can interrupt the pressure line, run it through your valve and then back into the rear unit. My loader valve has another line that dumps into the ther rear unit below where the pressure line hooks up. It is so the loader can drop more quickly. Be sure to use an open center valve (the most common kind)Mount the valve where it is handy and run hoses to the rear with quick couplers for your remote cylinder. Conceivably you coud put as many of these valves together as you wanted. One problem is that the reservoir in the tractor is not very large and as mentioned the pump does not put out that much pressure even when in excellent shape. You can still lift quite a bit by using the right cylinder.

There was a remote valve option to do what you are asking. However, I did an aftermarket work up on my 420 for a loader. You may call JD and see if they still have the operators manual for the #35 loader - that gives pictures on how to redo the plumming. You could put an aftermarket valve in using this type of plumming. It needs to flow 12 gpm and have its own relief valve (I wouldnt go any higher than 1000 psi on the relief). Some will say that a 1000 is a little high but I could not find one that was set for less. Hydraulic fittings can be bought at just about any farm store and it is not hard to find places to make custom length hoses in the midwest. That ought to give you a few ideas to start with on yout 1956 420. Also the service manual I got from JD has informtion in depth on the hyd system. I am not trying to be rude, it is just a little hard to describe all the fittings and lines. Good Luck!
