While replacing my load control shaft/bushings and seals, I mopped out the sump,(the very bottom of the hydrolic system), and found the usual tiny pieces of brake material, and some pieces of plastic that I believe was a white plastic tie wrap at one time. This is my question; How do you think the tie wrap got there? I hope someone from a John Deere dealer, or someone with a lot of experience on new generation tractors will respond. Of course I welcome all responses! I'm closing it up today anyway,( I've already cleaned the screen and saw nothing unusual, and I've never saw anything in the filter area when it's been changed that would make me believe something had came apart), but I am curious to see everyone's thoughts and responses. I'm guessing and saying someone worked on the lift at one time and dropped the tie wrap in that way? Any ideas?

Thanks in advance; Barney in Hot South Ga!

Could you describe more accurately the size and shape of those pieces; thin, long and slender, chunks, do they look like they have been smashed? From the sound of you're inital description, they could be pieces of back up ring as a previous post described.

While you have the oil out of the transmission pull the hydralic suction filter out if you haven't already. The replacment filters are plastic and it might be a piece of that.

Look at the white plastic closely to see if it is actually tie wrap, it could be pieces of back-up ring used behind o-rigs in many cylinder and seal applications. They share the same color and width.
