I have a 46 A that ran before I redone it and after redoing when you start it the throttle shuts down. The tractor runs but only with the throttle lever at full throttle, but runs as if at idle. Carb has been overhauled governor is set right mag is timed. I am open for any thoughts. Thanks, Don

Don, you didn't give us much to go on.
~Does the carb throttle lever go to WOT with the hand throttle all the way forward with the engine NOT RUNNING? ~Does it start out with the carb all the way open until running then close to idle after starting?
~Does the carb throttle shaft lever move in the correct direction when moving the hand lever?
~What is meant by "governor is set right"? Are you talking about the throttle linkage rods?
~If all the throttle rods are set correctly & the carb throttle lever moves in the correct direction in relation to the hand lever, you might have a broken or weak leaf spring on the governor arm, [that leaf spring is what controls the actual carb throttle position & the governor fights that spring to maintain RPM, if that spring is weak the governor has nothing to work against & instantly brings the RPM down to idle}.....

Don ,You have to find out if the problem is in the carb or governor. Remove the rod from the carb butterfly and see if you can run it. When you speed it up does your governor rod move any try to hold it close to the original position. There has been several people with governor problems check forum for answer or post back to us. Your carb could not be correctly set. You idle screw could be set way to low. Also check to see if you have full thottle movement in the lever and on the arm on the carb.

did you take the carb all apart? sounds to me like the throttle plate shaft is upside down or the throttle lever is.
