Is there a separate fluid fill and drain for JD 2Cyl final drives?

I have a '57 420W. Is it true that the final drives utilize oil from the rear differential? Or, do they have a separate fill and drain?

According to JD dealer, only the Hi-Crop and Dozer version have separate final drives. Any 2Cyl. fans know the answer?

Thanks.

On my M which is similiar to the 420 the final drives are separatly filled. The fill plug is on the inside of the final drive.

Thanks. I can't seem to locate any drain or fill plugs..the dealer says they don't exist but I don't know if I believe them!

They're probably filled with dirt and are now invisible. I'll take a couple of digital photos of my 430w final drives and email them to you so you can see where they are located. The 420w and 430w machines are the same, except for the dashboard and tin.
