Does anyone have a good idea for cleaning up electrical conection for wiring harness plug into firewall on a 4030?
Conection doesn't seem loose but,it's too hot for the air and the fan to keep cutting out when the gauges go out.Have to get out reach up under hood and manipulate to restore power, sometimes it's fine for a couple of days other times it seems like minutes.
Tried pulling apart and cleaning with electrical contact cleaner, but it didn't look to crudy or corroded.
Help I'm only half way through first cutting and that cab gets hot!
Thanks in advance,John in Md.

Why dont you do like the rest of you dairy farmers do, take the door off and kick the windows out. HA-HA Which wire are you talking about? The big red wire or the multi connector? If it is the big red wire take it apart at the connector, sand the male end and take a pick and scrape the inside of the female end, give it a lite coat of grease and reassemble. For the multi connector, take it apart, scrape the connections clean and spread the connectors slightly, lube and reassemble.

Hey,Huck
It's the multi connector, took it apart, cleaned it re-assembled worked fine for 5 minutes at low RPM's bumped it up to 1700 and it cut out.
Now without engine running gauges come on for about 5 seconds then click they go out, wait 10 seconds and they will turn on for 5 seconds. Now I'm checking breakers, have power to the three on the left and the left side of the relay at the bottom, the right side goes dead after 5 seconds. No power on right side of relay or three breakers on right side.Tried disconnecting breakers on right side, one at a time,to try to isolate,no change.Replaced relay{selinoid},no change 5 seconds and it cuts out again.
Any bright ideas?
Did you get any of the pictures I E-mailed you?
Write if you find work,John A.K.A.Goob
