I'm looking for a front end loader for my 2640 tractor. I think that a model 146 JD loader will work. What other brands or models will work? Where are the sold. Tractor in South Carolina.

Lets see. Models 145,146,175,240,245,520,521,540,541,620,
640. Go to your local Deere dealer, and they will
have a loader brochere and a page tells what new
loaders go on non-current tractors. The new loaders are
521,541,620,640.

You mite find a Deere #48 loader. Older model that came out in the 60`s for the 20 series. I had one on my 1020 and then put it on a 2440. Still kinda miss it as I upgraded to a new 620 w/quick attach and quick detach bucket/accessories. Dirt bucket to forks in about 15 seconds. Real slick. However its about 5-6000$. The 48 is liteweight, with a srong wraparound frame that isolated lift and twist from the tractor well. The 175`s arent bad. butseem to flex extraordinarly, depending on the tractors backbone to hold it together. The 620 is like the 175 but heavier in design. Cant say much about other makes other than make sure they fit with out a lot of submount frames and hassles.
