Just the other day, I noticed a noise coming from the reduction gear housing When I was changing the drawbar. Should there be oil in this( I haven't checked yet), if so where do you add it? The gears just seem to be making more noise than usual. The tractor is not showing any signs of a bad bearing?

Nathaniel, you didn't say what kind of noise you are hearing?
~It could be anything from a worn outer transmission drive shaft bearing to PTO drive gear wear [does the noise change with the PTO engaged & disengaged?], to normal noises due to wear & the diesel power pulses.
~If it was idling slow when you heard the noise, a slow idle on a 2 cylinder diesel will make gears & clutch parts make some strange noises.
~There should be trans oil in the 1st reduction cover [about 1-1/2 quarts]. It should be kept at the proper level by the trans pushing oil out into it while in use, but 1-1/2 quarts should be added at trans oil change time. There is a drain plug at the lowest center point on that cover & it can be drained into a can or 1 gallon milk carton to see how much was in there, {I drain mine into a clear glass bottle, through a paint strainer about once a year to see if the oil has any water or metal particles in it}...To refill the reduction cover on the early 720D there is a plug close to the clutch fork shaft that will allow refilling, on the later 720D like mine, or the 730D I really haven't been able to find the correct [read recommended] way to get the oil back in, I just pull the access cover [the one with 2 bolts] that is for the fork stop adjustment & pour the gear oil in there.....

The PTO shifter does not change the noise, and it does it at low idle. I'm sure that it has been doing this but I just happened to notice it lately. I have ran it somewhere close to 50 hours tis week with my trusty 30 combine in oats with no hint of a problem. Except a few tanks of fuel and a couple quarts of oil!
