In '53 JD started building a full line of standard 3 pt hitch equipment for the 40 tractors. Most if not all of it would work with the thousands of Ford N series tractors and I'd guess JD went after that market. The plows were the model 411 (1 bottom) and 412 (2 bottom).

Im don't think they designed a plow specifically for Fords of the vintage but they did design a plow specifically for Fordsons in the 20s.

The plow for the Fordsons in the 20's was the #40 plow.

Thanks for the reply there is a big difference between a Ford and a Fordson. I take it was a trail type plow. Mounted plow? Lift? Earl

It was a trailer plow. At that time Deere was more into the plow business that the tractor bisiness and the Fordson was the most popular tractor going.

Fords arent fussy. Theyll pull anybodys plow. I pull an Oliver plow behind mine. Dearborn plows in the 50s werent especially good at clearing weeds and cornstalks. John Deere and Oliver (and others) did better.
