I was reading the local paper tonight and saw an ad for John Deere's newest tractor series 5020 series. Whats up ? with all the number combinations why do they keep repeating numbers? for example 320,330 2cyl and lawn and garden 820,830 2 cyl. and 3cyl. 430 2cyl and lawn and garden and so on,I know there are other duplicates
but I'm not up on all the newer models. This is a partsmans nightmare ! To easy to screw up enough why make it worse ? I'm just venting one of my pet peeves is anyone at John Deere awake and have any common sense ?? Stop this nonsense enough duplicates allready !!

Cheer up, at least they've not decided to use LETTERS! Can you imagine a NEW model "A","B","D","G", etc?

Still beliieve customer service & design would improve if members of the board at each manufacturing plant division were directly involved. Find a beaten/abused ( typical usage) JD about three years old & send that division's corporate person into a dealership wearing grubby overalls & work boots to purchase parts. Then have him/her repair the equipment with standard hand tools only, then use the machine for two or three 12 hr shifts. Deere flourished best when Wm A. Hewitt got out of the office was seen by staff/customers & competetors while on/under/into equipment.

That's when the job applications still asked "Have You or do You live on a farm?" In other words.... Have You had experience with the products We build?... Now 30 yrs later I doubt if half the poeple that work for deere could answer that question honestly with a Yes. Like so many companies now, Deere doesn't make tractors and implements.... They make "Products"...

I wouldn't have anything against new Ls, Hs, Ms, Bs, As, Gs, Ds, and Rs, as long as they looked like the old ones...
