I'm thinking of purchasing a 2355 John Deere and was wondering if anyone could give me some information based on experience. The salesman told me that it has the same engine as a 2555 except the injector pump is turned back so it doesn't make as much power. He said that otherwise it is the same tractor. Good or bad I'm thinking of buying a JD after a lifetime of Olivers and this was suggested to me. Thanks

The 2355 was made from 1987-1994. It is 55 PTO HP
It is naturally aspirated 239 CID 4 cylinder. They
are very good tractors. The 2555 was made 2 ways
2555 naturally aspirated 239 cid 4 cylinder 65 PTO
hp at 2500 RPM with the collar shift non syn trans
mission with or without reverser. The 2555 Turbo
239 cid 4 cylinder, 65 PTO HP at 2300 RPM with
the TSS transmission (synro) The turbo version
would be more desirable due to using less fuel.
I have a 1994 2355 MFWD and it has no problems.

Thanks for your feedback. The one I'm looking at is a 2 wheel drive with a TSS transmission with about 4900 hours. In real nice shape outside of the hours. I believe that I should get plenty of service out of it. The asking price is about 10,000. Let me know if that is out of line. Thanks again. Ike
