This weekend I tried to start a '45 JD B for the first time in 2 years. It has never turned over easily in the past so it is usually pull started. When pull started this time, a cream color liquid sprayed out the stack everytime the transmission was engaged (never started). I'm assuming the liquid is a gas/oil mixture based on its smell, texture and color. Does anyone know the cause? How about a fix to get her running again?

The carb was removed and cleaned prior to starting. Magneto was replaced 3 years ago and is functional and clean. Any help appreciated.

Cream-colored usually means water/oil, not oil/gas. Check the oil to see if it looks like that too, it may have gotten water in it while it was sitting. Did you have antifreeze in it? Hope it's not a cracked block or head, but you probably should check.

If you get it running, smell the water and see if it smells like exhaust or gas fumes. That's bad news. These things have a lot of places that water can get in over time, so maybe that's all it is.

Good luck!
