Hi There well I did a dumb thing or it just turned out to be a dumb thing. I have my 41 B in the garage with a fresh paint job, and decided to move the shifter lever up in 6th gear position so I can give it a better 2nd coat of paint, well the darn shifter got stuck there and of course I start moving it and pulling on it and then the shifter lever comes up, Oh Great, found the keeper ring that goes in the groove on the shifter lever and snugged it back down, but now I am stuck in gear. I have not taken the time to inspect the gear box yet, but did a search on all posted messages dealing with stuck shifters and I think (optimum word "Think") I know what I need to do, but would not mind someones insight on what I need to look for. I do not have a shop manual, or a picture of what the gear box looks like, but I am willing to dig in. The tractor was working just fine before I decided to give her a paint job, but now she pulls this stunt....

Your help and advice would be most appreciated. My wife needs the tractor out of the garage for her garage sell coming up, or she may try to sell it too :)

Scott, you are probably going to have to pull the shifter cover & line the shift rails back up then reinstall the shift lever in the middle.
~More than likely the lever pooped out of the shift rail socket & is now outside the shift rail pockets.
~While you have it apart make sure the detent springs are not too weak & the shift rail detent notches are not worn too bad. Sometimes it helps to space the shifter down with a washer to compensate for shift ball/shift cover wear.
