I still don't have the manual.

I looked at the tractor-shaped piece of rust and it looked to me like removing the engine block and splitting the tractor were almost synonymous. Am I way off here, or is the engine block the main thing for holding the front of the tractor to the back of the tractor???

Well, you can't be too much of an idiot, you did manage to use large red letters in your post. I've never been able to figure out how to do that. Care to explain?

The block will remove separetly, just as discribed by another poster.

To change letter size, colour, font:
[SHIFT COMMA]font size=s color=ccccc face=[QUOTE]fontname[QUOTE][SHIFT PERIOD]text[SHIFT COMMA]/font[SHIFT PERIOD]

s is not the point size. It ranges from 0 to 7. The higher the number, the bigger the text.

ccccc is actually three 2-digit numbers. The left characters are red, the middle ones are green, and the right ones are blue. 00000 is black. 990000 is red. FF0000 is brighter red. FFFFF is white. 0000FF is blue. FF? In order to put higher numbers in two digits, 9 + 1 = A, not 10; F + 1 = 10, I think.

fontname is the name of the desired font, such as MS Serif, Georgia ref, Courier New, et cetera.

text is whatever text you want to look different.

You can use only size, only face, only color, or any combination in a font change.

Where did you order the manual from? It is long overdue!! Our local TSC store some times keeps the I&T in stock.

NO, the frame is bolted to the main case seperate, and does not have to be removed to take out the block. the block bolts to the main case with 3 or 4 big bolts on top, may have 1 on each side that can be removed through the small square hole in the frame, will have 3 or 4 bolts on the bottom, after removing the head, pistons, and what ever else that looks like would be in the way, remove the above mentioned bolts, slide the block forward and remove the from the top. block is some heavy, watch your fingers. report back with progress.

Don't forget the two bolts in head end of the block coming up from the bottom that attach the block to the front frame.

Thanks

Does the fan shaft need to be removed? If so, does the radiator need to be removed?

By now I have even spent enough time at the computer we could have had it apart.
Can you bring your rust shaped piece of a 50 to northcentral Ohio so I can help show you how to tear it apart ?

Doesn't have to but it sure would help to remove fanshaft as it gives more room to pick it up and out of the frame. No the radiator does not have to come out. Just the water neck from the top of the block and the pipe coming from the water neck to the radiator. This water pipe has o-ring seals at each end an should come apart easily by twisting.
