How do I check/set the float level on my 50 dual induction carb? I'm getting some gas in my oil. I'm changing the diaphragms in my auto shut-off in my sediment bowl just in case. I also noticed fuel dripping(very slow) from the fuel line when I had it off the carb so I'm replacing the rubber washer on the valve in the sediment bowl assembly. But even though it would fill the carb bowl should'nt the float close the valve and not allow gas in? I noticed when I had the carb bowl off looking at the float I could push the float valve up with very little resistance and it acted like it was sticking in the closed position. Is this because I had the gas out of it...in other words normally the gas going in would normally keep it open until the float closed it?Thanks for any comments.

50man, If you are really skunked on where the gas is coming from I take the carb off the tractor set it up level . I have made up a 1 gallon fuel can with a hose and shut off valve. Hang this above the carb so you have good fuel flow turn on and check for leaks. I have a plug made up so I can check just the fuel bowl on the DLTX. The DLTX with the fuel bowl open the gas will crawl up the sides but more than likely the needle and seat isn't leaking it is just evaporation. It has cured guessing on carb flooding. On the DLTX the bowl vent is one of the most over looked problem especially the carbs with the brass baffel. Earl Seamands Mahomet Illinois
