I have 430 with power steering. The pump was cavitating making the oil foam over. I disconnected the oil line to the valve and it did the same thing. I took the pump apart and it is a vane pump. The surface the vanes run over is very uneven and wavy. Where can I find parts for this? It is a Saginaw pump with the large round cover on top.

MARK, THERE ARE NO PARTS AVAILABLE FOR THE SAGINAW PUMPS. IF YOU OR ANYONE ELSE IS INTERESTED, I HAVE A NUMBER OF A VICKORS PUMP AND A LIST OF PARTS NEEDED TO CONVERT YOUR SYSTEM. YOU WILL NEED TO HAVE THE PUMP PULLEY MODIFIED FOR THIS CONVERSION. IT TAKES SOME TIME AND IS A TIGHT FIT, BUT MY TRACTOR STEERS FAR BETTER WITH THIS CONVERSION. IT ALMOST LOOKS LIKE THE ORIGINAL TO BOOT.

Mr Thinker considers those pumps made out of unobatnium. I hope you happen to find the needle in the haystack. As I recall, I read an article in green magazine way back when about replacing that pump with a say mid 50's genreal motors ps pump with little modification on the mounting. As I recall, they were about the same size and appearance. Something to think about if your luck runs like mine sometimes. Good Luck
