What kind of lift capacity are we talking about for a 45 loader, when a tractor has the proper rear ballast and roll-o-matic row crop front end? Do those loaders put A LOT of undue stress on those row crop front ends? I only have one tractor to mount a 45 loader on -a 50. Thank you for any advice.

Is there a difference in the Roll-a-Matic fronts? I've got the front from a 59 730, on my 56 60. Had put a wide front on the 730, and put the old one on the 60. Are they different or all the same?

Yes, no and maybe. When the roll-a-matics first came out there was one rivet holding the pin into the two castings that made up the main assembly. Later one's had two rivets. There was a heavy duty roll-a-matic as an option for the 50's to 730. They had 4 bolts holding the wheel bearing cover on where the standard had 3 bolts What made them heavy duty was that the spindels were bigger as was the bearings. Is a wide front heavyer duty then a roll-a-matic? The wide front is more stable then the NF but now the weak points are in the steering arms and the tie rods.

The wide front was an aftermarket Schwartz. Never had any problems with it, other than it doesn't turn as short as the factory front. Broke the 60 front with a 227 picker on it, going to fast on the headlands.

The weak spot on that wide front end is the yoke,(the rod going from the main tube back to the back pivot point.) If you hit a deadforrow head on, that will do a number on just about anything. We broke the roll-a-matic off the 730D when we thought we had just broke the mounting bolts. Put it back on and drove it for a year. Then it broke at the pin that holds the two main castings together. Turned out the pin was broke at the frist time it came off because there was only about 1/2" of shiny metal at the brake. The rest of the pin showed rust. Glad that happened in the yard and not coming down off the mountain.

Tye The factory specs on the 45 loader Rated lift to full higth is 2,000 Breakaway is 3,000 Lift cylinders are 3" with a 27" stroke bucket cylinders are 2 1/4" Lift hight is 10' weight of the loader is 750# As to the front end, you'll be ok as long as you keep in mind that it is a farm manure loader, not a D-8 CAT bulldozer

With the bucket tripped and a chain connected to the cross tube behind the bucket I once lifted a complete Detroit diesel 8V92TA out of a conventional semi truck. I had to put about 80lbs of air pressure in the front tires and the 45 loader on my 530 John Deere only lifted it enough to clear the cross members about 2 foot and would not go up any further. Needless to say, after I got the 8V92 overhauled I called a wrecker to set it back in the truck as I did not want to drop it. The complete motor alone weighed well over 2000lbs. I am still using the same loader and tractor today and have never had any trouble with the roll-a-matic or the front end. But we have had to do some welding on the 45 due to cracking.

I have a 45 loader on a 60 and I rigged it to get down presure,(all I did was put hoses were the breather caps used to be on the tops of the cylinders.) It has no problem lifting the front of the tractor off the ground. I would guess it lifts somewere around #1000 or better. Those rollomatics and the wheel bearings are made plenty beefy to handle the added stress. Now if I only had a snow bucket for it...
