My father-in-law just got his 12A combine back together and the motor is running at 200 degrees without a load. The motor is an LU. He redid the valves, all new gaskets, had the radiator cleaned, and installed new head bolts. I'm not much help with help this motor. Any ideas? Also it is an LU and not an LUC. Thanks for any help!

I don't think the factory put a gauge on this unit probablly for this very reason. Thermo-siphon systems run hot to work more so when using antifreeze , I wouldn't get to excited
unless it was boiling over.

Thanks, Mike. We have since found that my great uncle added this temperature gauge on at sometime in the oil pressure gauge spot.
