Replaced the drive disk, now its tight. The clunk is gone, but now/still have a clang..
I can reach in and wiggle the pressure plate(?) and make it wiggle hard enough to ressemble the clang noise while running....is there supposed to be bushings in between the pressure plate holes and the 3 studs??? am I adjusting it wrong????
Thanks for any help!!!!

JD60, are you getting the "clang" with the clutch both engaged & dis-engaged? There aren't any bushings between the pressure plate & the adjusting studs. ~Everything just kind of floats around in there until the clutch is engaged, then everything is clamped together.
~If you have the noise with the clutch engaged make sure the adjusting bolts aren't hitting the pulley cover & the pulley isn't hitting the dust shield.
~With the clutch dis-engaged, try to lift the pulley & see how much play the pulley has on the crankshaft. Sometimes a loose pulley due to worn outer bearing or inner bushing will make a noise.
~Try to explain what the noise sounds like in a little more detail, as a clang means different things to different people. Try to describe the sound [e.g. Two pans banging together etc.]
~Does running with the PTO engaged & dis-engaged change the sound?

Clooney, 2 pans. It appears that the pressure plate maybe in contact with the pulley wheel on one point. I can move it with a finger and make it slap against the drive disk....what about someone putting A parts in there? it just seems like the studs should have less clearance for the plate holes..... ...

Clooney, do you suppose I could grind off some of the material at the outer edges where the studs go through so not to allow those "wings" to hit the pulley wheel???

JD60, how close to the inside of the pulley are the "wings" on the double sided disk?
~You could probably grind a little from the outside as long as you don't get into the bolt holes.
~How loose is the sliding drive disk on the driver splines? That is a common place for clutch noises to emanate from. Are the inner splines worn on the sliding drive disk?

Clooney, after spending more time tonight 05/23, the part I was looking towards as the next noise maker I have found like the response you'll see below on the board, it stays with the pulley wheel. The trouble is the Floater Plate. Its has the same type of slop as did the drive disk, worn splines...so I ordered a new one from Dengler to UPS redded to me tomorow....hope I'm done now with repairing for awhile...I have learned alot..and Thank you for all your support, you know how much pain I went through to get to this point..Hats off to the JDClooney!!!!! !!!!! !!

Are those "WINGS" you refer to the double clutch disk? if so it goes over the studs and cant move other than in and out .Hope this helps. Don
