40W hydraulic oil leaking into engine oil?

I have a 40W that appears to have an oil leak between the hydraulic system and the engine. The hydraulic oil level is going down, while the engine oil level is going up. The engine oil is thinner (I assume it's because the hydraulic oil is straight 10W oil). I don't think it is gas or coolant in the oil, because it doesn't look or smell like gas or coolant. The hydraulic pump runs off the front of the engine, and my shop manual shows a leather washer, and possibly an 'o' ring in the pump. Anyone have any experience with this problem? Is it easy to fix the leak? Let me know, thanks!

Thanks everyone. I'll take her apart and fix her, hopefully before the grass in my yard grows too high.

My 40 did the same thing. Its a fairly common thing. I paid someone to do it for me, so don't know how hard they are to replace. There are some bearings in there that often are bad as well. The parts for the repair are not that expensive as i remember.

My M model leaked the hyd. oil into the engine
while in storage. Just remove the hyd. pump and put in new seals. Parts were available from JD dealer.
