is a single front wheel bad for plowing. How rare is a 720 diesel with a single front wheel. Would this be a good tractor to pull plows with??? thanks

I like a narrow front for plowing because it makes nicer turns. With a wide front you have that outboard front wheel swinging around the turning radius. With a narrow front, the turn radius is nearly the same as the rear wheel spacing.

The single front wheel as said is great for row crop work. For plowing I would prefer a wide front as you can run the front wheel in the furrow and helps to keep it in line. Other problem with single front wheel or 2 front wheels together is that if you hit a large sod or something like that, and if you don't have power steering, the front wheel can turn rapidly so the steering wheel does also. With a spinner knob on it it can hit ya several times before it stops. Power steering dampens that. Problem with a wide front is that if you don't have power steering they steer a bit hard. At least in our area I think the wide front is the most versitle. The single front wheel should work for plowing, may have to use the brakes more.

The single front wheel was great for row crop as it would run in the middle of the row very good. I don't know why it wouldn't work for any type plowing. They are not rare in that you will make a lot of money off one. The front pedestal can be changed easy on the 720 so it's hard to know what came on your tractor.
