What is the easiest way to get the inside rear axle bearing race out of a 52 G. Got to replace the seal but can't get the race out, there is no edge to get a punch to it to hit it. Race is a little rough so i thought i would change bearing to. Any ideas would be appreciated, thanks Ken.

Another method that also requires a welder is to run a bead around the inside face of the bearing race. When it cools, you can usually lift the race out with your finger tips...The weld shrinks the race sufficiently...

Ken, the best way I have found is to cut a piece of steel strap [maybe 1/4"-5/16" thick] & long enough to center in the middle of the bearing race, then clean the race & tac weld that strap into the center of the race.. When the weld cools it will shrink the race slightly & you can use a long rod or pipe through the outer axle bearing area & easily knock that inner race out [try it, it works great]..

~If you don't have a welder you can use a bearing race puller from the inside then use a pipe from the outside to drive on the race puller [is the difficult way]

~Or use a long rod [5/8" concrete re-rod will work if the end is ground flat & bent] to reach in from the outside & try to get in in the bearing race cut-out slots [it is also hard to do & takes a lot of bending & re-work to get the rod to properly contact the bearing race]
