My 620 was missing the clutch/pulley cover so I got an after market new one. It wont stay on. The 3 clips seem in good shape. The lip of the new cover isnt any too long. Im thinking about using some brass bolts through the pulley and tapping threads in the lip of the cover. Is there a better way to keep the cover on? Thanks.

How are you putting the cover on? I think I am correct on the following, but would appreciate correction if I am wrong. The relief in the flange is to provide clearance for the adjustment nuts, the clips snap on to the unrelieved flange.

On this cover, the flange or lip is the same all the way around.

Exactly what happens?

Does the cover pop off whenever you engage the clutch? It seems tight when you put it on butthen comes right off when you engage? My 730 does this also. The "T" shaped bolts extend just a little bit past the edge of the pulley. I can only surmise that this is because of wear or that possibly, there were several different "T" bolts available and I have the wrong ones. I suspect it is excessive wear in the clutch dogs, but I don't know quite for sure.

Engaging the clutch does not "pop" the cover off. It just slowly works its self off. Within 10-15 minutes of running, I can see that it is starting to come off. The pulley does not run perfictly true. The vibration may cause it to come loose.
