I'm looking for a rotary belly mower to put on a JD 320. Any suggestions on make/model?

I would not go over 5 foot as I use one on a JD M and I think they have the same engine. Check out the new rear discharge land pride 3 pt mowers. I have an older landpride side discharge, since you don't have live power you can't do much jockeying around objects and don't need to look back that much. Much easier to hook up and service as the 3 pt lifts them high up. Just another perspective you may or maynot have thought of.

Mike: I think you're right, from what I've read the 320 is a direct line grandson of the M--and the 320U (what I have), from the MI. Does your M handle a 5' mower pretty well? I'm only mowing grass, not bush-hogging or anything. Thanks

It handles the five foot just right. Mine is a 3 point hitch old model landpride side discharge with 3 blades. I made my own hitch that works good on the M .

Woods makes an "Undermount" belly mower that will fit your 320. (It will fit H's, M's, A's, B's, etc also) Woods model 59 (5-footer), and L306 (cuts 6 feet) Woods makes good stuff. The dealers shouldnt be too hard to find since they are a major name in equipment. Where I live in Northern NY, the local JD dealer also sells Woods products.
Hope this helps

A 20-A Center Mounted mower is well matched for a 420, but I don't know about for a 320. The clearance under the 420 Row Crop Utility and the 420 Tricycle tractors is 21 inches, according to a brochure I have. The 320 Standard (one-row cultivating type) also has 21 inches of clearance, so that mower might work on it.

If you have a 320 Utility, there is only 11 inches of clearance, as you probably already know.

Stan- it's a '58, s/n 32509. Slant steer w/ yellow paint. I inherited it from my Dad who just passed away. He was a JD nut; collected the 30 series, but his true love was this little 320U. I'm guessing you must have one too? Jim
