Today we went to the family ranch. We have an old John Deere M. The tag said M-20875. I want to restore it but I have also considered buying a Ford 8N to restore because everything seems fairly easy to get.
The front grill and hood are in the barn so they are in good shape. The tractor has been outside for 20 years. Everthing is replaceable. My concern is how hard is it to buy parts. I know the Ford 8N has several online part stores.

Try the local JD dealer. I have had good luck getting parts for my 420C, it surprises me how many parts they still can get. The 420 is basically a growth version of the M, and a lot of parts should be the same. Ford parts are very easy to get, too. I think the M might pull a little better as it is a little heavier. hope this helps
