My power steering was leaking bad on the lower pedestal. Is this remidied by replacing the "O" rings and cork gaskets down there?
Also I found a pretty nice gouge in the side of the cylinder. Any suggestions here? Deere wants 347.36 for a new one!!

Tom, if indeed it is the pedestal leaking (per the wise ol G Man's post) there are 2 big O rings (top n bottom) 2 smaller O Rings (agian top n bottom) and two small gaskets by the 2 smaller O rings to replace. While in there, however, I would go ahead and install the 2 rectangular wiper seals. My 620 was leaking up top where the shaft enters the flow control valve so I replaced that seal too. Ol John T

Tom, I can't help you on the cylinder end of the question, but check that leak real close. I just worked on a 630 that I thought was leaking at the bottom of the pedestal. A good steaming off and a couple trips around the shop revealed that leak was up where the steering shaft enters the sector, and the oil was just running down - a much easier fix than pulling the pedestal. Just trying to possibly save you some time, good luck - G-MAN.
