C.Q., the clutch pulley moving sideways is normal & is needed for the inner disk to release.
~What radius are you rotating the pulley about? If you are talking about being able to turn it, that is also normal if the clutch is disengaged & the trans is in neutral..... .

60, are you saying the pulley can be turned in the rotational direction with the clutch engaged? If so you better pull the cover & outer plates & check for a loose drive disk to crankshaft, [wear or looseness there can get expensive in a hurry]
~A very slight looseness when lifting the pulley isn't desired but is common on a clutch with aged bearing & bushing & if not excessive won't hurt anything.....

I can lift the pulley slightly, but can rotate the it at least 15 degrees, like I stated earlier, it clunks while running but not constant, can really hear it when torque loads and unloads, shakes also at higher engine speeds...it can't be that expensive can it???couple of clutch parts....??

60, it sure sounds as if the clutch driver has come loose from the crankshaft, those two parts are splined together & are supposed to be tight with NO movement between them.
~With luck & not much use, the driver can be tightened or replaced, with much use on the worn parts or if the driver has been pounding on the crank splines for a long time an undersized driver & in some cases even a replacement crankshaft will be required.
~That repair can get expensive if it has been pounding for a long time.
~Before getting ahead of ourselves, you really should pull the clutch cover & outer clutch disks & maybe even the clutch driver disk to verify you have a loose clutch driver, or if you have other problems. If it is a loose driver disk, the sooner you find it, the better off you will be ..... ....

Sure sounds to me like the splines on the crank and clutch driver are worn. My 60 has the same symptons. Where can you buy these oversized clutch drive discs and are they expensive?
