Well, here's my first trial at the sheet metal. It's not all the way bolted down. Not too bad considering that a barn had fallen on it !

The lighter green paint is just a day old, so it will mellow and darken a bit. I already have the rest of the tractor dirty from working it. My plan is to give it an overall 2-3 coats when it's completely assembled, after removing the black parts.

I installed an underneath exhaust system, and looks kind of strange to me with the absence of the big stack.

Next comes the electrical and lights, the gauges, and get some more yellow for the front wheels.

At least now she's mobile.

Congrats on the hood and front grille. You've done a good job Frank. I continue to enjoy your picture posts and hear how you're using your tractor.

Did the tractor come with an orchard style exhaust? On my 50's orchard exhaust, I had to replace everything except the cast parts on the muffler and tailpipe flange. Orchard exhausts are rare and I was wondering what you had to do to get yours in shape.

Bob K:
The tractor came originally with the standard stack type muffler, which I still have. I have a lot of trees on the property and I thought maybe the under slung system would be better for me. I was fortunate to find a complete system off of a 70D through Albert at Renaissance Tractor. The pipe is in good shape, but I might have another one made before this ones gets the rots.

It really makes the old girl sound different !

Farmuse:

The green is PPG acrylic enamel, and the yellow is DuPont acryilic enamel. When it all gets cured, it comes out a nice shade, but it tends to look odd until all the different applications have aged !
