Hey I was needing to see if I can change the ring gear on my 60 while the flywheel is still installed on the tractor? There seems to be a lot of area to cover while the flywheel is still on it to make it come off and on. Thanks for the help.

From my point of view the flywheel should come off and placed inside up so that when installing replacement ring gear it will seat on the machined shoulder before it cools down. While it is apart it would be a good time to replace the A4224R spacer(slinger)seal and gasket, also inspect and replace if needed the A4398R plastic thrust washer(the outer one- it uses one on the inside also). The starter removes a little easier w/the flywheel out of way(Hows the starter drive? brushes bushings(3)etc). Finish the job by cleaning up the splines of both the flywheel and crankshaft cleaning or replacing the 2 bolts for the flywheel and installing new lock washers on same.

From looking at my tractor you could probably drive the old ring gear off of the backside of the flywheel and then cut it off. Then put the new one on from the front side of the flywheel.. I have never done this, just a suggestion
