My grandpa's 1953 model 60 John Deere Rowcrop had two different hubs. The one side is just like those used on the 620/630 tractors(I think those are number A1500R??). The other wheel hub has 5 oval shaped holes in it and carries the casting # A4378R. Can someone tell me which one is correct for the tractor, and how much the oval shaped one will cost to find a match for it. Thanks Tyler

depends on the tractor serial# the 4378 r was used on early 60 tractors but was replaced with 1500 r i have a new parts book so it will only say to sub (replace with) 1500 r and will not say at what ser# the change took place. if correct is important then someone on this site will have an origional 1952 or 53 parts book with the part as regular equipment and if you don't mind the extra cost of finding the origioal type wheel, then go for it. i shopped for a good 1500 r cast center and was quoted over 100.00 till i found out the 50, 60 and 70 all used the same wheels (a 1500 r)-----walt

I would say that the for 1953 that the 5 oval holes are correct, my knowledge is that 52 and 53 mostly had these.
