Have a B and I can't get it to start for anything. There is spark at the plugs and plenty of gas, but nothing will get it running. Please help.

OK go back to the start, check fuel to carb ,check spark on both sides, take the plugs out and turn the motor and see if each side sparks, put the plug wire on the left cylinder and turn to compression and watch and see if it sparks on the line within an inch , if it has compression spark and is hitting the mark and it has gas it will run .

Matt, I have an A which I had the same problem with. It took me months to get it going. And when I finally did get it started and to run, the next time it wouldn't start again. A friend told me I was "doing it wrong" because I was used to 4 cylinder tractors which simply don't work the same. He suggested to set the throttle so that it is just short of wide open at the carburator - almost to the stop. Doesn't matter where the throttle lever is so long as the carburator is just off the stop. Then, crank the engine over only for a couple of revolutions and back off. Just before it stops turning over, it will pop and go. Didn't cost anything, so I tried it. I've been starting it like this for several years. The only time I have trouble now is if I flood it which happens pretty easy with my carb.

If this doesn't help, I'm with Gary. More info is needed.

Good luck.

Matt,
Give us some more details. Is it hand start or electric start? Can you pull start it? Has it been running at all? Has this problem just developed?.
Give as much info as you can.
G
