Hey guys, I finally got the axle bearings for my G today. They look correct - they're even Timkens. The only problem is they came in Case-IH boxes. I did find out that the place I ordered them through was a Case-IH dealer, although they got them from Dallas. Anyway, I probably could have gotten a better deal through our local binder dealer, but I guess it's a little late now - I'm just glad to have them, I guess. They're part number A27023, if anybody is interested or needs them. At any rate, they were much cheaper this way than the prices I was originally quoted - I got all 4 for what other places wanted for 1 - about $300. And yes, we will be contacting John Deere to find out why we can get a part for a John Deere tractor from Case-IH, but not through Deere - that ought to be an interesting phone call - our parts manager likes doing things like that, lol.

day late and a dollar short, but if you had a timken # probably your local NAPA store could have got them for you. If you need any other G parts email me. I don't have a lot of stuff on hand but after doing several searches for my G's I know a few places to call you might not

I gave the Timken number to our local bearing supplier - they could get them, for $300 a piece. Trust me, I pursued about every option I could think of when looking for them. I finally posted a classified on this site, and got the reply that eventually led to the bearings for $70 a piece. Thanks for the other info - I'll email you if I need anything.
