Clooney the hooked loader up, lifted slowly and quit, added more oil and lifts to max height.
But it lifts slow, but faster than with old pump,
but not as fast as it did before we had this problem. Also takes awhile before it lifts off of ground(3-10 seconds)then rises but slowly.
Can hear pump working hard, but doesn't really but a load on the tractor. It has two coulper in back that have a hole drill cross ways and up the middle, but solid where you who hook hoses up to. On the right side of power-trol have pipe at 90 degrees comeing to 2 couplers
where loader hoses are hooked up. Screwing metering screw in and out does not seem to speed it up. And I only have pressure on lower port with level pushed towards front of tractor. Nothing when level pulled back, and no pressure at all on upper port. I am thinking that pump is producing good pressure but not enough volume.
I am thinking that this pump is getting worn out also. Thankyou for helping me, this is driving me crazy. Also slow nd fst raise have the same amout of pressure. Takes it awhile to read pressure on gauge also.

JD JACK, there is something that doesn't seem right to me...[On the right side of power-trol have pipe at 90 degrees comeing to 2 couplers]
Explain that hook up please?
EXACTLY where are the hoses hooked to the power-trol, I understand they are hooked to the side port(s), but are they hooked to the top & bottom pipe plug openings or just one pipe plug port?
~Does your loader have 2 way cylinders or just one way cylinders?
~Are you using the loader as power up & down or just power up & float down?
~Try to explain as clearly as you can how EXACTLY the hoses are hooked to the power-trol & what openings they are hooked to.
~Do the port plugs in the 2 holes in the back of the power-trol have open or closed fronts?

Clooney, it is a 45 loader. Plugs out of both upper and lower side ports. lower one splits to each ram on loader in front of ram for lift, and upper plug goes to both rams at back. I think don't know if that is a 1 or 2 way cylinder. We just use it as power up and float down. plugs that go into back of power trol have opens front(the front is the end that goes into power trol and also cross drilled. The plug out the side are just pipe that comes about 3 inches out with elbow in and hyd fitting threading in that hoses from rams plug into. both upper and lower side plugs are like this. We did try switching hoses around, it just but down pressure on rams. So would that make it a 2 way ram?

JDJACK, it sounds like it is plumbed ok to work as power up & float down.
~Because you are using an open front lower plug, the rock shaft piston has to pressure up at the same time as the loader, so watch the rock shaft to see if it moves before the loader does, if so you will have make a chain or strap to keep the rock shaft from moving while using the loader. ~You could try backing the throttle valve screw out all the way until it doesn't contact the valve any more to see if that helps (that will let the rockshaft come up with pressure but not lower), if that helps then a chain or strap will help also. [Note: don't leave the throttle valve screw out all the time, as that will leave the rock shaft piston pressurized until the pressure leaks off & that is hard on the piston packing & cylinder gasket].
~If the rock shaft is staying up & doesnt move first, then your problem is probably air in the system or a flow problem. ~The other thing to check for is a restriction in the pressurized & non-pressurized side of the system like couplings that arent matched or tight bends in the lines or hoses. Or even lines that are too small.[how fast does it lower?]
~Make sure the power-trol is kept full of oil until the air is out of both sides of both cylinders or the cylinders will just keep pulling in air with the oil.

YOU DON'T NEED TO LOCK THE ROCKSHAFT. MY JD50 EVEN HAD A THREE POINT HITCH ON IT. THE HITCH WOULD RAISE FIRST BECAUSE IT HAD LESS RESISANCE THAN THE LOADER,THAN IT WOULD STAY UP WHILE USING THE LOADER,THE LOADER LOWERED FIRST CAUSE ITS HEAVIER JUST DON'T LEAVE THE LEVER BACK AFTER LOADER IS DOWN OR ROCKSHAFT WILL THEN START TO LOWER. IF YOU WANT A BLADE ATTACHMENT FOR THIS LOADER I HAVE ONE TO SELL. DOES YOUR LOADER STAY UP OR DRIFT DOWN THE PACKING COULD BE LEAKING LETTING PRESSURE BY THE RAM

Loader works good. tried it on a different tractor.
It does stay up.

It lowers fast. Is there a certian way to get air out?. Or just keep using loader to get air out?

Could a plug be put in the rear with end closed off that wouldn't allow fluid to piston?

Which model tractor do you have it on? And if A or B are you useing pto pump or a live pump on gov. housing? #45 loaders have cylinder packing that is a leather cup only designed for one way operation. The second set of hoses at rod end of cyl.are to let the front of the cyl. act as a resesvior on tractors with small oil capacity like the A, B, 50, 60 on a 520, 530, 620,630 they only need one hose and a breather on the front end.The parts book has good plumbing diagrams. I had a #45 loader a a model 50 hooked up to the same ports I think you described and it worked best that way. If I hooked it up at rear with pressure on both sets of hoses It didn't lower as smooth as when hooked to the side ports. Have you used your rockshaft much? Does it work allright and doesn't drift down? The packing could be leaking taking oil away from the loader
as the rockshaft has to go up first on a B, or 50 type system.

It is a 60. Just put new o-ring and ring on lift piston and new gasket between lift piston housing and case. How can you have pressure on both sets of hose going to both ends of rams? wouldn't that fight each other. So the hose going to front of the rams are just resesvoir? The fluid flow is only on the back of the rams for lift and lower?

The valve controls the oil flow to the hoses one or the other not both at the same time. Oil is stored in the front of the cylinder when the ram goes up it pushes it back to the resesvior
so you don't run out of oil in a model 60 . It might take some time to get the air out if it was dry .

I used 1/2 inch dia, hose and fittings the whole way on my 50 and it had good flow, and if you leave the lever in down position after it is down the rockshaft will come down and it has to fill up first before the loader will lift could this be the lag ? when you first raise?
