Was the Golden D started on it's 60th birthday? I think I would go nuts pulling-pushing-shoving-yanking a golden treasure

Hi,thanks for asking about the Gold Leaf D. Dad decided not to start it, at least for a little while. I know there is several ways to look at this, but here is my point of view. You know when you restore a tractor and start adding fluids like gas and antifreeze and run it and get the maniflold and stack hot, you will loose that show room new look. I have been pushing my Father to leave it like it is, To me it is a show room tractor. We have 2 other unrestored 1937 D's at home that he can run all he wants. He is building a 1/2 scale Gold leaf D at this time, and considering the equipment he has to work with, the toy looks like it will be a pretty nice one. Thanks for asking, and if anyone would like to see some more pictures or read the story about the 1937 Gold Leaf D feel free to check out my web site. Thanks for the interest, Charlie English Jr aka Chances R

I had a nice conversation with your dad at the NY Expo. I know what you mean about how those little leaks popping up. I built a G puller but I did a complete restoration with the correct gauges, sheet metal fasteners, etc.. Doesn't take long for little bumps and bruises to occur. I enjoyed your dad's segment in the Expo video, also. My "BurnsOmatic" was included in the pulling part of the video. My little claim to fame, LOL.

Good talkin with ya

Now that is a good looking G. My brother Steve collects G's and has around 7 different styles. GH, GW, G with duels and 36" front end, GM, GN, ustyled, styled G's. I use to pull, but quit about 4 years ago. Here is a picture of my ex pulling tractor. It is a Custom with a straight eight Chrysler flat head motor. Thanks for sharring the G picture.
