You might try over on the Minneapolis Moline forum. M-M bought out Avery (I think) in the early '50s and there might be somebody on that forum that could help.

Good luck,

Stan

Walt,

You got me on that one - please tell me more about the Peoria Avery, as I'm going from memory on the B.F. Avery tractors of the late '40s.

this is not from memory, but from encyclopedia of american farm tractors "avery's first tractor was a steam traction in 1891, they built the popular avery undermount steam tractor later and their first non steam tractor was built in 1909" and looked like a flat bed truck no cab. mostly they built large prarie tractors that literaly took a 40 acre field to turn around. they were pretty much out of business by 1923 but tried to make a comeback in the late 30s with a reorganized co. and a new tractor called the avery ro-track. after that they were history.

how rare are the ro-tracks. What value do they bring for a running Avery ro-track?

Walt,

Thanks for the reply - today was a good day - I learned something!!

I would guess that the initial post was about the small B. F. Avery tractors, however, don't you think?

Best regards,

Stan

Walt has a good suggestion there. In addition, go to the left side of this screen and click on Discussion Forums, then scroll down to Orphans and Oddballs. There are a couple of posts in there this morning about b.f. avery (maybe it's your post already?). One of the posts talks about a website for Avery collectors.

Good luck,

Stan

go to your search page or just type "google" in the search window at the top of your home page then when you get there, type in "finding old iron" harolds antique tractor and engine page will be at the top click on that and it will take you to a page where you can scroll down to tractor names in alphabetical order, scroll down to minneapolis moline and left click on that and you will see b.f. avery, left click on the b.f.avery titles-----walt
