How much cold cranking compression should you get, I am showing 45 lb both sides, But pretty hard to turn over/. Carb is off, and spins freely with plugs out. Russ

jdman(MO) , a lot depends on how fast you crank it & what pistons are in it. ~I would think you should be seeing closer to 55-60+ but again that depends on cranking speed, how many puffs, & the temperature.
~What is the pressuure at one compression stroke only? You might want to loosen the valve adjusters so all valves are closed then make an adapter from an old spark plug to fit your air compressor then put about 75 lbs of air pressure on each cylinder to see how much & where the air comes out.
~A leakdown test will tell a lot..... ~It might not hurt to put some oil in the cylinders then crank it for a few turns then re-test it..... .
