GWH & Walt F

The old adage proves itself again - "Your Never To Old To Learn" My rockshaft usage goes back 50 years. I have not used one since I was 15 when I used to cultivate corn for my Dad. My manual bought from JD recently pictures both linkages. From your posts I now understand how the rockshaft works. Yes I have the plugs that fit in the oil line holes when a cylinder is not being used. I will plug those in and then I should be in business.

Once again thank you both for you posts.

Dick

when i was in highschool back in the early sixtys i used to read the old tractor supply catalogs to see what tractors could be upgraded to aftermarket three point hitch and which ones couldn't. years later, i got a free 2 row cultivator that would fit my 1941 b and mounted it, and got it working after trial and error. i knew the power lift would only go completely up or completely down, no in between. our 60 that we used in the late sixties and early seventies had what i call four point hitch (two arms on the top, two arms on the bottom) with the power trol system. we also pulled a eight ft. tandem disk and used the remote cylinder (red tractor supply). this site wouldn't be fun if i couldn't learn something now and then, and not everything i think i know is proven fact. sometimes i might pass on misinformation that i thought was fact because it was passed on to me as fact, but wasn't (sometimes for generations, learned this in bible study)we eventually learn to go back to the source-----walt
