After Market 3 Point Hitch Question......

I've been looking at after market hitches for my 1953 jd 50. I've run across one that is mounted on the draw bar frame. It boxes in the pto shaft. On my tractor, the pto shaft is off centered to the left. If the hitch boxes in the pto shaft, will this obstruct implement shafts from being able to hook up to the pto shaft? The kind of hitch set up is the same as the one on saginawcountytractor.com

I've got a Saginaw County 3 pt kit on my '54 JD 60. -- practically the same tractor and has a PTO that's offset left of center.

The PTO shaft leans about 10 degrees to the left when it's attached. Other than looking a little kattywumpus, there seems to be nothing to be concerned about. I keep the U joints well greased so I feel better about it.

I've only used 3pt implements with this set up, but would be cautious -- or even worry a bit -- if I were using PTO driven pull behind implements -- especially on left hand turns.

The picture here should be worth a thousand words. The PTO offset is apparent - but it works.
