4010 Deere making a squeeling sound

I purchased a 4010 at an auction and after I got it home it started making a load squeeling sound (like a bearing going bad). It first started when the tractor was running at 2200 RPM. I powered down to idle and the squeel went away. I moved the RPM back to 2200 and after a few minutes it went to squeeling again. I noticed that when i hit the brakes, the squeeling would stop. It would return in a few minutes and would stop when i tap the brakes. After 3-4 times of this, the squeeling would stop when I tapped the brakes and then start squeeling right afterwards. I powered down to 1500 RPM and the squeeling stopped for a while only to act in the same way when the squeeling started @2200 RPM. After slowing the engine to 1000 RPM the squeeling stopped. The squeeling never occured at or below 1000 RPM but when the throttle was moved over 1000 RPM it would squeel. I tried all the gears, Park, and the neutral spaces in the gear selector and it doesn't change anything when it comes to the squeeling. Has anyone experienced this before? Does anyone have any ideas what could be causing it?

Well, if the squeal is where you say it is, my post is useless. Still you might check; see if you have a loose or worn fan belt or a worn generator pulley.

Where is the sound coming from-front or rear of the tractor and does it continue with the clutch engaged or disengaged. On the old original main hyd pumps on the 4010 tractor there was a relief valve on the stroke control housing on the front of the pump. The relief valve is mounted on the side of the housing. If the relief valve is set too low or if the spring is weak-you may be getting a noise from the relief valve. When you step on the brakes it may reduce the pressure to let the valve seat. Try to isolate the noise. Keep us informed.

It sounded like it was coming from just below the clutch and brake petals. There was no change in the squeeling when the clutch petal was pressed down or released. Hope this helps.

On the main hyd pump on the 4010 there was a destroke screw on the bottom of the pump-it should be a screw with a roll pin through it. Turn the screw in to shut off the main hyd pump or you can disconnect the front pump coupler from the front of the crankshaft. On the old 4010 it had two plates with bolts through it. Remove the bolts and the plates to disconnect the main hyd pump. Start the tractor and see if the noise is gone. If it is gone then there could be a hyd high pressure leak-possibly in the brake valve. If the noise is still there it may be mechanical.

I'm by no means an expert, but it kinda sounds like air in a pressure hydraulic line. Just a thought.
