Just a small ??? about the clutch on my D. When I engage the clutch it starts to move then I have to give it a shove to get it to engage fully. It also takes a big pull to disengage it. This really makes it hard to pull a disc or a sled. What could be my problem?? Thanks in advance
D dude

D dude, I would do as Jon said first, need that distinct snap when it goes in or out. Type in clutch in the search box and look for Clooney's post, he explains clutch problems a 100% better that I can. Mine was very suggish too and I found the operating bolts to be worn a little but most of all they were tight in the pulley holes from rust and and dirt, cleanded out the holes and built up the bolts(only one available in Canada at the time) and it works great.
My book shows D's are 80 pounds of pull on the lever, my Dad's way was 500 lbs I'm sure, you know operator weight of 100# + 2 hands and 2 feet to engage and disengage it. lol.
Hope I have been of some help, and good luck, (about to get that D going?)
Bob

Your clutch discs may be to tight. You may need to loosen them back a little bit. The clutch should snap when going in but it shouldn't take more than 70lbs of pressure on the lever to do so.
