I would like to tell you about this exciting event to be held on the weekend of 20 April 2002 in South Africa. In 1999 we set a world record by having 109 old tractors ploughing in one field at the same time. Last year the Australians took the record away with 299 tractors but there are still questions about the valadity of their claim as the Guiness society has not published it yet. We decided as South Africans to bring the record back home and revenge our cricket losses against the aussies.

On the weekend of 20 April at 14h00 we will be fielding a minimum of 400 vintage tractors all working soil disturbing implements in the same field at the same time next to each other. There are tractors from all over the country and some rare and special ones as well. We have a list of close to 840 tractors and drivers promised far exceeding the original target of 400. What do you guys think of this?

Pieter,

You neither have too much time on your hands nor should you give up this goal of setting a record.

We residents of the United States know too little about the rest of the world and its tractor collecting habits.

Please keep us informed, with pictures if possible.

Stan
