We have JD 4020 that after about a million hours we decided to freshen the motor. We actually sent it to B.O.C.E.S. and had the work done. Well this tractor had an M&W aftermarket turbo on it which although was still spinning had some play in the shaft and a hairline crack in the exhaust housing. We bought a new turbo to replace it. Well the new turbo is a little different and interferes with the coolant manifold (I'm not sure that is what it is actually called). The word is that the 4320 coolant manifold has a relief designed into it to accept the turbo. My question is will it bolt onto the 4020? We tried to find a turbo with the same old dimensions but the company that bought M&W doesn't carry that one anymore, and didn't have any luck with the JD dealer. Thanks in advance.

Later M&W Turbo kits came with a larger diameter turbo and the kits came with a special thermostat housings that were more offset to provide more clearance . That's what is mentioned in the previous post . I found the part number for them , it's 5E130 , they were around $30 ea 15yrs ago . I have the old Inst and parts manual for the turbo kits . I didn't think they were available anymore .

Call Shoup Manufacturing and they can get the two coolant the thermostat housings for you. I just replaced the turbo on mine and they supplied them because I ran into the same problem
