Less than a year ago I became a member of the collectors center. For two reasons. 1. So that I could get a couple serial numbers researched. 2.Figured it would be nice to get the Traditions magazine that was included. Well let me vent a little here. So far I have not been able to get anyone to respond to me on the serial number search. The web page says to email [email protected]. Well after a week and 4 unanswered email attempts, I have concluded that either there is no one answering that address or they just do not give a krap. I called once two weeks ago and was put on hold for ever and they someone took my information down and said they would get it to the right people, I knew when they took my information it would not get taken care of and it has not.

Who do I need to call and what is the correct number to call? Is type of service the standard operating procedure at the JDCC

Last vent/Traditions Magazine. Someone out there might care about JD houses and House boats and bronze statues and swimming pools. I don't

I guess I was expecting too much. I was hoping
that it would EVENTUALLY come back in more like
the old Furrow magazine. Big disappointment.
Dad and I split subscriptions between Green Mag,
Antique Power,Farm Collector and Two-Cylinder.
Kind of expensive, but Dad really enjoys them.
I'm NOT renewing Traditions. Can't even get
decent pictures in it. Dad doesn't bother to even
look at it any more, so it's History. pb

Your J D dealer can send for serial number search at no charge. And also get a new tag for your tractor. I had my 40c looked up and all I had was the motor number.I got back a new tag to put on and at no charge, they told me that J D dose not charge for this, but it dose take long time to get it back. but the price is right. Some paper work needs to be filled out.

I'm not a real big fan of the magazine either, although I just re-upped (figured I'd give it one more year),it's been a disappointment. But my one archive request was responded to within a week.

Funny how for years JD fazed out 2cyl. parts.
Lots of NLA in the 1980's and 1990's Now all of a sudden they have a parts center, muesem, and magazine after they seen others makeing a buck on what they didn't care about. They should have lead
the 2 cyl. craze not jumped on at the end. That magazine is way high priced!!!

sounds frustrating, and someone at a higher level at JD needs to be made aware that their image is being damaged by this type of service. It doesn't matter at what level of customer, sevice should be the top priority or eventually people start looking elsewhere for their services..

Lynn-----

And you thought JD didn't look in on these boards, didn't you????? Amazing how that works, isn't it?

I share your notion that the Collectors Center and that God-awful, useless magazine are major disappointments.

No wonder Deere is so keen to recruit Green Mag and/or even the somewhat up-tight/stuffy 2 Cylinder magazine . To their credit, my five searches last year were done within days & that included snail mail over the border. Any new endeavours requires growth & experience. Last weekend while sorting through the Green mag collection, early issues were a learning experience. Any new magazine that survives is a rarity & tribute to the staff. Mother Deere was trying to get a little different angle on the topics to appeal to readers/issues currently missed. A tough call to make. I'd like to see pictures of senior executives tired & dirty after operating & maintaining JD equipment in the field after a few days each year. Good old Wm. A. Hewitt lead the company to the top and got his hands dirty on occasion. It's humanly impossible to sit behind a desk and make accurate decisions based on just verbal, written & video reports. Current/prospective purchasers and stock holders would be favourably impressed. Who wants products from people in ivory towers?

Ditto on the magazine. I was real excited at first but what a major disapointment it has been. Velie cars, Deere homes, not much info at all for the cost, YUK!!! Im not going to renew either!!!

I almost forgot. I was at the collector center last week. I waited at the parts counter for 15 minutes while TWO parts people answered the phone without so much as acknowledging me. I finally got fed up and left..Will phone my order in to someone else.
